In this post, we are going to see a small conversation between a seller and a buyer.

Customer:
This shirt is nice. How much?
Indha sattai nalla irukku. Evlo?
இந்த சட்டை நல்லா இருக்கு. எவ்ளோ?

Seller:
Let me check the price tag. It is Rs.1000.
Kudunga price tag paathu soldren. Idhu Rs.1000.
குடுங்க பிரைஸ் டேக் பாத்து சொல்றேன். இது ரூ. 1000.

Customer:
That’s too much. Can I get a discount for this?
Romba adhigam. Idhukku discount kidaikkuma?
ரொம்ப அதிகம். இதுக்கு டிஸ்கோவுண்ட் கிடைக்குமா?

Seller:
No sir. It’s a fixed price shop, so no discount.
Illa sir. Idhu fixed price kadai, so discount kidaiyathu.
இல்ல சார். இது பிக்ஸட் பிரைஸ் கடை, சோ டிஸ்கவுண்ட் கிடையாது.

Customer:
I like the shirt. If you give me a discount I will buy it, otherwise, I will go to another shop.
Enakku sattai pidichirukku. Discount kodutha vaanguren, illana, vera kadaikku poren.
எனக்கு சட்டை பிடிச்சிருக்கு. டிஸ்கவுண்ட் கொடுத்த வாங்குறேன், இல்லனா, வேரா கடைக்கு போறேன்.

Seller:
Wait, sir. We can offer a maximum of 10% discount just for you.
Irukkunga sir. Naanga ungalukkaga oru 10% thallupadi kodukkuroam.
இருக்குங்க சார். நாங்க உங்களுக்காக ஒரு 10% தள்ளுபடி கொடுக்குறோம்.

Customer:
So how much I have to pay for the shirt?
Apo sattaikku evlo pay pannanum?
அப்போ சட்டைக்கு எவ்ளோ பே பண்ணனும்?

Seller:
After the discount, you need to pay Rs.900 sir.
Discount’kku poga neenga Rs.900 pay pannanum sir.
டிஸ்கவுண்ட் போக நீங்க ரூ.900 பே பண்ணனும் சார்.

Customer:
Alright. Please pack the shirt.
Sari. Sattai’ya pack pannunga.
சரி. சட்டைய பேக் பண்ணுங்க.

Seller:
Thanks for shopping with us.
